Virtual Workshops

title

Thanks for your interest in our workshops! We are currently only offering virtual workshops that focus on peace and conflict themes in a local and global context, as well as the Mosaic model of research, dialogue and action.

We are keen to connect with teachers and school/ board administrators who are interested in and committed to fostering empathy, open mindedness, intercultural understanding, and critical thinking in inter-disciplinary ways.

To learn more about the themes we cover in our virtual workshops, browse the 3 key topics below.

Peace and Conflict Series: Peace Building From The Inside Out

What does peace look like? Is peace possible in our world today? What is my role in the peace process? Students will explore the meaning of peace and conflict in our 'Peace and Conflict' modules. These modules will use world issues to discuss the causes of conflict and the approaches to fostering a more peaceful world.

Dialogue Series: Communicating Through Identity & Difference

Why is language important? What is my communication style and preference? How can I challenge ideas and disagree in a respectful way? How can I create more meaningful relationships with others and become a better active listener? Students will develop the skills and knowledge to answer these questions in our ‘Dialogue’ modules. A key part of resolving conflict and creating peace is self-awareness and learning how to listen and communicate with empathy.

Action Series: Social Change: the Individual & the Collective

What does meaningful social change look like? Why does prejudice, systemic injustice and inequities exist? What causes societal and cultural change? What does systemic change mean? What tools and skills do I need to positively impact my own community? Students will learn about the importance of civic engagement, social movements, and community mobilization in fostering social change through our ‘Action’ modules. These modules pair well with our ‘Dialogue’ modules as well, as students practice skills that are essential to civic action, such as conflict resolution and communication.
