Help the Mosaic Institute Build a Stronger Canada and a More Peaceful World

The vital work of the Mosaic Institute would not be possible without you, our caring and passionate supporters. Like us, you believe that Canada’s diversity is not a challenge for the country to overcome but rather an opportunity just waiting to be harnessed and directed to helping solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Through your support, we are contributing to positive social change both in Canada and around the world through our research projects and our innovative programs helping Canadians with ties to overseas conflicts work together to build trust, promote social cohesion, and model the twin virtues of peace and pluralism through courageous acts of “global citizenship”. The following is a brief fund development update:

Leadership Gifts:

The Mosaic Institute’s former Patrons’ Peace Circle, our donor recognition circle that served us so well for several years, has been replaced with multiple giving levels to offer more options and flexibility to our donors:

  • Mosaic’s Peace Cabinet is an exemplary group of individuals who commit to making an annual gift of $25,000 each year for 3 years;
  • Mosaic’s Peace Partners are pivotal donors who pledge annual gifts of $5,000 or more to support Mosaic’s work;
  • Mosaic’s Peace Builders help reinforce Mosaic’s efforts to promote social cohesion in Canada and peace around the world through their annual gifts of $2,500 to $4,999; and
  • Mosaic’s Peace Makers are helping to build the foundation of Mosaic’s work by making donations of between $1,000 and $2,499 each year.

The Mosaic Institute Goes to New York

As part of our efforts to raise funds and awareness about the essential work of the Mosaic Institute, our friends Heather Ursu and Marcel Kasimovich will be hosting a reception for Mosaic at their home in New York City in September 2014.  This gathering will provide New Yorkers (including a number of proud, expat Canadians) with an opportunity to learn more about the Mosaic Institute’s work harnessing Canada’s diversity.

Save the Date:

May 5, 2015 is the date of the Mosaic Institute’s first-ever Fundraising Gala, which will be held at the Toronto Board of Trade. Join us as we honour Louise Arbour as an “Honorary Peace Patron” of the Mosaic Institute. Mme. Arbour is an exemplary Canadian whose life work illustrates a remarkable path of accomplishments in the field of human rights and the advancement of peace. A former Supreme Court Justice, Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and for Rwanda, and High Commissioner for the United Nations Human Rights Commission, more recently Madame Arbour has served as President and CEO of the International Crisis Group, the world’s foremost  independent, non-profit, and non-governmental organization committed to preventing and resolving deadly conflict. For more information on how you can attend our Gala or support our work, please contact our Director of Development Wendy Sung-Aad at

We’re counting on your support to help us continue the essential work of the Mosaic Institute. If you haven’t already done so, please make a gift today and help inspire others to action.
